Itinerary

Day 01Giant Fish and Sunset Piranha Fishing

Our day begins at 7:00 AM when we pick you up from your hotel in Manaus. From there, we’ll head to Ceasa Port to board a speedboat on the Rio Negro. Our first destination is the floating village of Catalão, where we’ll visit a fish farm to see the Giant Arapaima Gigas, the world’s largest scaled fish. You’ll have the opportunity to feed these magnificent creatures and experience their incredible strength firsthand.

Following our visit to the fish farm, we’ll continue by speedboat to the Meeting of the Waters, where the Rio Negro and Solimões River converge but remain distinct. Next, we’ll travel by boat to Careiro village and then proceed by road for about an hour to Maçarico Lake. The final leg of our journey is by speedboat, arriving at the lodge around 11:30 AM. Enjoy a delicious local lunch served at noon.

At 3:00 PM, we set out on a canoe trip, where you’ll have the chance to see the famous Amazon Pink River Dolphin and a variety of colorful birds. We’ll also try our hand at piranha fishing. We’ll remain on the water until about 6:30 PM to catch the stunning sunset, after which we’ll return to the lodge for dinner at 7:00 PM.

After dinner, we’ll embark on another water excursion at 8:30 PM to search for the fearsome caiman. Your jungle guide will carefully capture a caiman for you to observe up close before returning it safely to its natural habitat.

Day 02Trekking, Wildlife, and Canoe Exploration

The second day of our adventure begins early, at 5:00 AM. We will depart from the lodge at 5:30 AM in a motorized boat to a tranquil spot where you can witness the jungle awakening to the sunrise. After this serene experience, we’ll return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast to prepare for our morning trek.

During the trek, your knowledgeable jungle guide will provide insights into the Amazon’s ecosystem, including medicinal plants and various insects. You’ll also have opportunities to observe native wildlife, such as playful monkeys. Following the trek, we’ll head back to the lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, starting at 3:00 PM, we will embark on a canoe trip through the Várzea Forest, a unique area characterized by its network of small channels and waterways. This exploration offers a distinctive perspective on the Amazon’s flora and fauna. During the dry season (August to March), this excursion is conducted on foot due to the lack of water. The area is excellent for spotting wildlife like monkeys, sloths, and various bird species. After our adventure, we’ll return to the lodge for dinner.

Day 03A Day with Locals and a Wilderness Overnight

Our day begins at 7:00 AM with a delicious breakfast. At 8:00 AM, we’ll set out to visit a local family living along the river. You’ll gain insight into their simple yet enriching lifestyle, see how they cultivate their own food, and sample some local fruits. On the return trip to the lodge, you’ll have the chance to swim in the river and enjoy some traditional Amazonian fun.

After lunch, at 3:00 PM, we will depart from the lodge for a unique overnight experience in the Amazon. Your guide will assist in setting up camp and preparing dinner in a secluded part of the jungle. We will provide hammocks and mosquito nets for a comfortable night’s sleep. Following dinner, you’ll have the opportunity to try spearfishing before heading back to camp for the night.

Day 04Survival Skills, Night Safari, and Nocturnal Wonders

In the jungle, you’ll have ample opportunities to delve deeper into the breathtaking Amazon Rainforest, whether through trekking or canoeing. Your guide will impart essential survival techniques and share valuable local knowledge about the Amazon. During the night, you’ll embark on a thrilling night safari, engage in additional spearfishing, and spend another night immersed in the heart of the jungle.

Following a morning of adventure, the group will embark on a short hike in a new part of the jungle. As the sun begins to set, we’ll return to camp. Once night falls, we’ll board a boat equipped with only a flashlight and the guide’s spotlight for a nighttime safari. This is a fantastic chance to observe nocturnal creatures such as birds, snakes, bats, and spiders that inhabit the Amazon at night. After an exhilarating evening of wildlife spotting, we’ll head back to camp to rest and prepare for another day of adventure.

Day 05Farewell to the Wild: Final Hike, Lodge Lunch, and Return to Manaus

After breakfast, we’ll hike to a different area of the forest. Following the hike, we’ll pack up camp and head back to the lodge, arriving around 11:00 AM. Enjoy one last delicious lunch at noon. At 1:30 PM, we’ll depart from the lodge and return to Manaus, arriving approximately at 4:00 PM.
