Begin your adventure with pickup from your designated accommodation or meeting point. Travel inland toward Grenada’s mountainous interior, leaving the coastal scenery behind as the landscape changes to dense tropical vegetation and forested hills.
Your guide will provide an introduction to Grenada’s rainforest environment and explain the natural features you will encounter during the day.
Arrive at Grand Etang National Park & Forest Reserve, one of Grenada’s principal areas for hiking and nature exploration. The reserve encompasses volcanic mountains, rainforest ecosystems and several established hiking trails.
Take time around Grand Etang Lake, a freshwater crater lake located approximately 530 meters above sea level. The surrounding forest provides opportunities to observe tropical vegetation and wildlife.
Depending on trail conditions and the group’s ability, your guide can select an appropriate rainforest walking route.
Continue into the forest for a guided nature walk. The Grand Etang area offers trails of different lengths and difficulty levels, allowing the experience to be adapted to the group.
Along the way, look for tropical plants, birds, frogs and other forest wildlife. The area is also known for its population of Mona monkeys and a variety of Caribbean bird species.
Seven Sisters Waterfalls
Continue toward the Seven Sisters area for the more adventurous portion of the day.
The Seven Sisters trail passes through lush rainforest, bamboo and heliconias before reaching a series of waterfalls. The official tourism authority describes the trek to the first cascade as approximately 40 minutes, with more rugged terrain continuing through the waterfall area.
Take time to enjoy the forest surroundings and, when conditions permit, cool off in the natural pools. Swimming is optional and dependent on weather, water conditions and individual confidence.
After the rainforest adventure, relax during the return journey through Grenada’s green interior. Depending on the final routing and operating conditions, the guide may make a short scenic stop before returning guests to their accommodation or designated drop-off point.
Arrive back at the original pickup location after a day focused on Grenada’s rainforest, waterfalls and mountain landscapes.
