Trinidad City Tour
Today, explore the historic city of Trinidad, which faithfully reproduces the atmosphere of the colonial era for its state of preservation. One of Cuba's most beautiful colonial cities, it was declared a UNESCO World Heritage. It was one of the best-preserved cities in the Caribbean when sugar was the main trade in these places. The remains of that colonial and slavery period, in which Trinidad flourished, constitute the main attraction of visitors. Walk through the paved streets, visit the city museum and the Santissima Trinidad church. Stop at the Canchánchara bar where you can enjoy (optional and for a fee) a typical drink, whose recipe comes from the customs of the Spanish settlers who used the ingredients typical of the place, lime juice, brown sugar, and rum. Optional stop at the ceramic craft workshop, one of the artistic and cultural resources typical of the Trinidad area. In the afternoon, free time at leisure to continue the visit of Trinidad at will. Dinner and overnight at the guest house.

Departure from Trinidad passing through the Valle de Los Ingenios, a silent sentinel of a past, characterized by the sugar refinery boom in Trinidad, where the slavery phenomenon linked to the Spanish colonization in Cuba, is present everywhere in its culture and traditions. The ruins of Manassas plantations, sugar mills, and old colonial estates are silent witnesses of past slavery. The tower was built in 1816, is characterized by eclectic architecture. The goal of its construction was to guard slaves on the plantations from above. Three bells of the tower, each with a different sound, signal the beginning and the end of the work, the days of rest, the escape of a slave when the bells rang together signaled an invasion by pirates. Proceed to Santa Clara, panoramic tour of the city, which currently houses the Mausoleum with the revolutionary Ernesto Che Guevara (OPTIONAL entrance fee). Continue to Remedios, the eighth of Velasquez's seven colonial villas, which is a bit secluded compared to the central Carretera, has managed to keep itself a little detached from the great mass tourist circuits with historic historic historic buildings center that boasts two churches on the main square.
